His Site

Angus Oblong is an American author and artist. He is best known as the creator of the television series The Oblongs, and the author of Creepy Susie and 13 Other Tragic Tales for Troubled Children (1999). The character Milo which appeared in his Creepy Susie book was based on a young form of himself; Milo that appeared on the television show The Oblongs was a watered down version of this creation.

Oblong attended the University of California, Berkeley. He resides in Los Angeles, California. He had a pet pig, The Countess, until she died on May 12, 2008.

Oblong lives a life of secrecy, so when people ask him about his personal information, he usually provides false information. He mentioned in one interview that he lies in every interview. He provides a false age in interviews, claiming to be anywhere from 20–110. After mentioning his age he often adds that he plans on dying soon. According to the Oblongs DVD commentary, Bruce Helford, The Oblongs director, mentions that his company found a young artist in San Francisco.

His books are often written to resemble children's stories, but are geared towards adults, and are usually about bizarre situations, including people with "freakish" deformities, demonic possession and murder, among other topics. The stories almost always end in gruesome or bizarre deaths to at least one character.

He has one nationally published book, Creepy Susie and 13 Other Tragic Tales for Troubled Children. It consists of 13 short stories of adult-oriented humor. Many of the characters from his TV series The Oblongs first appear in this book, including Milo and Creepy Susie.

He sells another book of individual stories on his website. He named the book 13 More Tragic Tales for Ugly Children (as opposed to Troubled).

He also sells books that contain some of the art he has created over the years. He has 3 books: Angus Oblong Random Drawings Book One, Book Two and Book Three. He sells them on his website.

His television series, The Oblongs, airing originally on The WB and in syndication on TBS, continues the strangeness of his books, but in a somewhat less gruesome way.

It was released on DVD in 2004, including the whole series plus interviews with Angus Oblong and more of the show's staff.
