Who is SciFi Times TV?

We are a group of folks who have run the gambit of science fiction, fantasy, horror, and the paranormal for more years than we can count. We decided to come together to share our love for the genres in a way that we can have fun, and move beyond a simple "Talk Show" format. (Do you really want to see just another couple of people talking on couches? Or staring at each other across desks and chairs?) We could do that, and it is a popular format. We wanted to inject a little more "flavor" into the show, and hope that you enjoy something other than Vanilla.

How did SciFi Times TV come about?

Through the insanity of all involved. Or at least, if they held any vestiges of sanity when they started this trek with us, trust us, it is long gone by now.

It started when Bo was approached to be a contributing editor to Tim Riley's fabulous concept of the SciFi Times Magazine. His idea was to create a free-to-the-conventions magazine with a focus on science fiction, fantasy, horror, and the paranormal. The biggest thing that caught Bo's interest was that Tim was a fabulous guy with a big heart, who wanted to give something back to the industry that he evolved in. The next thing (also having to do with the big heart), was that he wanted to create something that would help give a boost up to the "little guy"...the independents in the genre and industry who received very little (read: next-to-nothing) promotion without struggling every step of the way. Bo agreed with him...there is great stuff out there that few people hear about, and could really expand the interest in the genre.

As Bo was working on her first article for the magazine, her husband, Tom, was working on his first streaming internet television show...playing around with the idea of doing something that was fun. She approached him, and then Tim, with the idea for taking SciFi Times Magazine to Internet TV, and over the next two months, the whole concept developed into the show you see now. With much insanity ensuing along the way.

With as many changes as the show has already gone through before even coming into being with the premier on September 24 (all done in less than 2 months!), you can expect many more as the show changes and evolves into directions that we hope will keep on going for fun for everyone!

How will SciFi Times TV make money enough to afford to continue?

Like any other website, we will be putting up Google Ads on our pages, so the more often you visit, the better off we'll be! That's why we will have other things here than just the TV Show. We will have the archived shows available n demand. Most of these interviews are put on the show in their entirety. But when we do really need to clip them down and we think you'd be missing out on additional fun, we will post the full interview up, separate from the show entirely. In addition, we will have the voting pages for each of our guests, where you will get to vote on their Achilles H.E.E.L.S. Ambassadorial status for the year. Also, for each of the conventions where we are invited with Guest Status, we will be putting up Virtual Convention pages, so you can not only see what you missed, but also maybe entice you to visit them yourselves the following year!

Also on our website, we will have internet ad links pages, for those who wish to promote with us on-line, and get their products some exposure. Ask for further info on rates by dropping a line to our Marketing Department at marketing-AT-SciFiTimesTV-DOT-com. Replace the "-AT-" with the "@" symbol, and the "-DOT-" with a period.

We will also, just as any television show, be airing commercials with each weekly show. Interested advertisers should also drop a line to our Marketing Department at Marketing-AT-SciFiTimesTV-DOT-com. Replace the "-AT-" with the "@" symbol, and the "-DOT-" with a period. We have about 10 minutes per show set aside for commercial advertising. So yes, while you will see fewer commercials in the initial shows, you can expect to see a few more later down the line, so we can support our continuing effort of fun for everyone.

We will also have merchandising available in our SciFi Times TV store. Keep checking back to see what new and fun things we have available!

We also take bribes! No, just kidding. However, if you have that little extra cash laying around and you might CONSIDER a bribe...try checking out our current Charity Pick, and send them that little extra somethin' somethin'. While we could use it, they have much higher ideals than us, and are well-deserving of your efforts-that's why we selected them!

What do you mean by “Virtual Conventions?

A virtual convention, by our definition, will be a convention that you can visit on-line, at the SciFi Times TV website. For each convention, we will be trying to get footage of some of the following: Heads and staff to share a piece of themselves that you don’t normally get to see, costume contests, gaming contests, panels, visits to the vendors in the dealers’ room (and where you might link with them even if you didn’t get to the convention, and you see something you’d like!), exhibits, and whatever other fun and mayhem we can find and connect to, to give a rounded convention experience! Of course, we’re not going to get it all…in most cases, not even close. But it just means that you’ll have to stop by and actually go to the convention itself!

How can we get SciFi Times TV to come to our event?

If you have an event that you’d like us to attend, contact us to find out what we need and what we offer in exchange by dropping a line to Bo-AT-SciFiTimesTV-DOT-com. Replace the “-AT-” with the “@” symbol, and the “-DOT-” with a period. For local events (places where we can drive home for the night without a lot of hassle), we’ll do it simply in exchange for a table to promote ourselves. In addition to laying their lives and hearts on the line at the Achilles H.E.E.L.S., both Bo Savino and Glenda Finkelstein are award-winning authors with multiple novels out.

Are you paying people to be on the show?

We can’t even afford to pay our selves yet! Actually, many of the independents have been great. They get a chance to get their stuff out there for even more people to see…and that it really important not only to them, but to us as well. The celebrities also get a chance to tell you what new adventures they have coming up, so you can share even beyond the realms of genre you connected with them in the first place. Some of them continue to come back in places where our hearts and minds get to keep connecting, while others go on to other things. In addition, the majority of them have been enthusiastic in their responses to connect with you visa SciFi Times TV, knowing that their appearances keep them alive and well in your hearts and minds…and that it helps out some of the littler guys to get some attention. Each and every one of them has been wonderful to work and share with…and we hope that you will see why when you watch them in our exclusive interviews!

Show Suggestions

We are open to your show suggestions…let us hear your ideas! There are no guarantees we will use them, or they may be something we already have in the works. If we do use your suggestion, it is with the understanding that submission is done without ANY expectation of compensation, other than getting your name listed in the credits for the suggestion! If there are simultaneous submissions for the same suggestion, and we do actually use the suggestion, we will list the first person whose suggestion was submitted.

Will you run other programming on SciFi Times TV?

Absolutely! We want to build this into a community. So, if you have an internet television show related to any of our main focused genres: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Paranormal…or anything you think might be a fit, let us know and we’ll talk about getting your own little piece of cyberspace on the SciFi Times TV broadcast network. The same goes for Internet Radio…we are trying to branch out and make this a full community site for all the genres we enjoy, and hope that you do too! Contact Bo at Bo-AT-SciFiTimesTV-DOT-com. Replace the “-AT-” with the “@” symbol, and the “-DOT-” with a period.
